Hook Peninsula Sunset

Just After I Packed Up & Was Heading Back To The Car, I Spotted This Lovely Composition. Hook Head Lighthouse, Co. Wexford.

The Cemetery, Lady's Island.

The sun beams in the photo shine through the ruins of a church, which was built in the seventh century. In October 1916, Cromwell arrived in Wexford and sent out foraging parties around the county. One such one arrived in Lady’s Island. Many people had fled here to seek sanctuary. The Augustinian priests refused to bear arms against their country. They were murdered, the church was unroofed and desecrated. Mass has not been celebrated within the walls of the church since.

Torc Falls

The Beautiful Torc Waterfall. Located At The Foot Of Torc Mountain. The Legend Says a man who was cursed by the Devil to spend each night transformed into a wild boar, but when his secret was revealed by a local farmer, he burst into flames and disappeared into the nearby Devils Punchbowl on Mangerton Mountain from which the Owengarriff River emerged to hide the entrance to his cave beneath the Torc Waterfall.

Morning Sun, Wexford Bridge

I headed to the bridge in Wexford Town for a sunrise. I actually started on the other side of the bridge looking towards the town, but the light wasn’t great. I gave up on that location and crossed the bridge, when I looked back the rising sun and patterns in the water looked beautiful.

Sunset at Loftus Hall, Hook Head.

Sunset at Loftus Hall, County Wexford. Built on the site of the original Redmond Hall, it is said by locals to be haunted by the devil and the ghost of a young woman. Today visitors can have a guided tour of the haunted manor. With the light fading, I decided not to get too close. I took my shot and made a quick exit.
