Stanley Gill Force, Lake District
After a picturesque 30 minute walk through a dramatic deep and narrow gorge, as the sound of crashing water got louder and louder, I reached the magical 60ft high Stanley Gill Force waterfall.
The Jaws of Rydal Cave.
Another view from Rydal Cave, with two people in the entrance to give a sense of scale.
Wastwater
After the 4 1/2 hour drive I started to wonder, what if it’s all clouded over, then i saw Wastwater and the mountains in all their glory with blue sky above.
Ranerdale Knotts, Buttermere
A photograph of the wonderful bluebells of Rannerdale Knotts!! The area around Buttermere is away from the busier Lakeland areas. It’s well worth going off the beaten track and exploring.
Cathedral Quarry, Lake District
Exploring deeper into the depths of Cathedral Quarry.
Aira Force. The Lake District
Near the shores of Ullswater is Aira Force. It's a beautiful waterfall in fantastic surrounds.
Classic Lakeland Weather, Buttermere.
On my walk up to Rannerdale Knott, the light shinning over the trees looked fantastic and the first composition of the trip was created!
Deep In Rydal Cave.
Perfect reflections in a cold cave is enough to give you the chills. The weather outside was really bright, so the decision was made to venture underground and find something different!
Striding Edge, Cumbria.
It was great to get back on to one of the best Lake District Scrambles. Not quite the light I was hoping for, but never the less another great experience!
Langdale Stone Wall
The Lake District has so many stone walls. Most of them are older then the United States of America. I came across this particular when descending from The Langdale Pikes.
Milky Wastwater, Lake District
I stood in front of the large and brilliantly blue Wastwater, the deepest and most mysterious lake in England.
Cathedral Quarry
Whilst exploring The Lakes this weekend I decided to visit Cathedral Quarry. It has two tunnels which have been left to allow people to venture through. One is quite short and the other definitely requires a head torch 🔦. It also has an open section with a big pillar and a very small collection of water. It’s a great place to visit and would highly recommend it! .
