Etive Mor Waterfall

Arriving in Glen Etive, I realised there were no other cars parked near the waterfall which was a real surprise. I was hoping that I would be able to witness and photograph the red rising sunlight hitting the top of The Buachaille. Buachaille Eite Mor is located at the head of Glencoe and it’s pyramid shape makes it one of the most well known and special mountains in Scotland. I was delighted that everything came together and made the three hour drive before sunrise worth while!

Lower Falls, Plodda Falls

I visited Plodda Falls near Glen Affric to kill some time before picking friends up from Inverness airport. What a fantastic place. The walk had a small waterfall, followed by the main 46m fall and finally the lower falls as shown in the picture. The compositions are limited due to the available viewpoints, but you can still get some cracking shots.

I previously said The Wailing Widow is the most beautiful waterfall I have ever been to. After visiting Plodda Falls, now I’m not too sure. You could be mistaken for being in the Canadian Rockies or New Zealand. .

Falls of Foyers

After a short walk from the car down forested slopes, the viewpoint overlooking the Falls of Foyers was reached and it didn’t disappoint! The water was cascading down the 140ft drop, crashing into the pool below and echoing around the gorge.

Autumnal Falls, Glen Affric

The area around Plodda Falls in Glen Affric has been an area which has inspired many including Poet Rody Gorman, who works in Scottish and Irish Gaelic as well as English, wrote a series of short poems inspired by Glen Affric. It certainly inspired me here, I had planned to spend an hour looking for some autumnal scenes. 3 hrs later I was heading home!

The Waterfall At Glen Etive

I've spent many great days in Glencoe, during this trip with some help from google I realised I had never visited the most photographed waterfall in Scotland. So on the way back down South I had a 30 minute window to visit the waterfall. The weather wasn’t great and hit the mountain with a snowy mist.

Meeting of Three Waters

On my visit to Glencoe I visited was the Meeting of Three Waters. Which as the name suggests is where three waters meet and merge into one. The three waters are the River Coe And the two waterfalls which run into it. The falls are located below the road bridge around half way up the Glencoe valley.

Waterfall of the River Buidhe on the Cairngorm Plateau

The Cairngorm Plateau has many small waterfalls which feed into Loch Avon below. This is the waterfall of the River Buidhe.

River Etive Falls

In Glencoe is the River Etive. The river has many falls and pools which could all be aesthetically pleasing to photograph. I found this powerful waterfall where the whole river passed through a small gorge.
